What to expect
Pilates is for every body, every fitness level and everyone is welcome at Root Pilates. While we encourage you to come as you are, there are a few things that will help make your session a little smoother.
- Wear form fitting, comfortable clothes to allow for the greatest range of movement
- Plan to remove your shoes and socks – Pilates is best done barefoot. Uncomfortable with bare feet? You can wear yoga or exercise socks with grippy bottoms (like these, for example).
- Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
- Finally, you’ll be asked to fill out a few forms before we begin, including:
- Sharing some of your health and activity history to help me create the safest possible experience for you;
- Signing a liability release, so that you’re clear that while the risk of injury is low, it is always a possibility when participating in any activity – including Pilates;
- Reviewing and agreeing to our COVID-19 procedures and release to help keep you and all of our clients as safe as possible.
Here are some sample exercises that show how we’ll use the reformer and the tower. While some of these exercises may look intimidating, I promise you can do it! Pilates can be adjusted for any body – including any range of motion or experience level.
Let’s get strong – together.
