What to expect

Pilates is for every body, every fitness level and everyone is welcome at Root Pilates. While we encourage you to come as you are, there are a few things that will help make your session a little smoother.

  • Wear form fitting, comfortable clothes to allow for the greatest range of movement
  • Plan to remove your shoes and socks – Pilates is best done barefoot. Uncomfortable with bare feet? You can wear yoga or exercise socks with grippy bottoms (like these, for example).
  • Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Finally, you’ll be asked to fill out a few forms before we begin, including:
    • Sharing some of your health and activity history to help me create the safest possible experience for you;
    • Signing a liability release, so that you’re clear that while the risk of injury is low, it is always a possibility when participating in any activity – including Pilates;
    • Reviewing and agreeing to our COVID-19 procedures and release to help keep you and all of our clients as safe as possible.
